Project Goal: Raney will help build a network connecting provincial Brazilian journalists with mainstream media in the larger cities.  The goal is to provide local journalists with multimedia skills to cover underserved communities.

Biography: Raney is a writer and producer based in Washington, DC. He works as a freelance producer for Al Jazeera English. He has filed reports for the international network from Brazil, El Salvador, and the United States. In 2007, Raney wrote and produced "Two Million Minutes," a feature-length documentary about how China, India, and the United States prepare high school students to compete in a flat world. He has worked as a foreign correspondent for The Associated Press in the Caribbean and Argentina and as a video journalist/correspondent in Brazil for Frontline/WORLD/PBS.
